Twingo III Price Speculation...

We're still waiting for definitive information from Renault on the Twingo III's pricing. In the meantime, shall we make something up?

To start with, the Peugeot 108 has been priced at 10 150/8 487 for the 3 door and 10 650/8 885 for the 5 door. The 108's sister the Citroen C1 will begin at 9 950 .

Next I looked at the outgoing Twingo II pricing which is 10,715 before taxes. So the question no becomes do you think the Twingo III will be able to undercut the Twingo II's outgoing price to put it more in line with its new rivals, or will the new daimler derived platform push Twingo III above its outgoing price?

Keeping it in line or even underpinning it's competition is likely where it will be at.

Although something to keep in mind is that Stefan Muller, Renault Europe Chairman, said that they will not be pricing the Twingo lower for the sake of volume simply to win sales, so perhaps pricing beyond Twingo II is a distinct possibility...

So are we thinking somewhere around 13,000? That is slightly higher than the Fiat 500. I think it would be a mistake for Renault to try to undercut others. They should price the Twingo near the top end of the segment.

Yeah you guys are right, they are one of the few brands that can do this, they might as well do it, see how well it works for them

I mean I like the Twingo better than the Peugeot 108 and Peugeot is planning on pricing the 108 at the top of the segment. If Peugeot can do it, than so should Renault. I would pay more for a Twingo than I would for a 108. And I'd pay as much for a Fiat 500 as I would for a Twingo.

Renault is also viewed as a "better" brand, it has some premiumness to it, i would too pay more for a Twingo than the 108

well the 108 is starting below 10K EUR. I'm kind of expecting the Twingo to be perched at 10K EUR. Especially if they want to keep some premiumness to it...
