Canister and fuel gauge

I am French and found this web site about the Twingo. (sorry for my english).

About 1 month ago I filled up the tank of my Twingo iii, the gun was jammed immediately and repeatedly. The fuel gauge has locked in the down position. Then a few days later fuel gauge was blocked in the high position. Since then, each time the gun jam, it blocks immediately and multiple times, so it's impossible for me to know if I fill the tank well (except to overflow) and the tank still blocked.

I took an appointment in a garage Renault who just told me that the technician is on leave, so we need another appointment! And it may be necessary to change the pump / gauge block by 300eur!

Since then, I checked on several web sites that it was possible for the venting canistee to be the cause of the problem? Where is this vent located? Your opinion ? Thank you for your support ;-)
